Preparation for Scanning IBM DS8000 series
StorageGuard collects configuration data from IBM DS8000 systems by opening running read-only DSCLI commands. These commands run on one or more Linux/Unix servers in the IT environment. Collectively, these servers can query all DS arrays in the scope. These servers are also known as DSCLI proxies.
The following table lists the requirements for scanning IBM DS8000 systems:
# | Description |
1 | Provide the network name or IP address of the DSCLI proxy. |
2 | Provide an OS user account for the DSCLI proxy. |
3 | Provide the network name or IP address of the IBM DS system. |
4 |
Provide an IBM DS user account profile (existing or specifically created for Examples for API/CLI calls used:
|
5 | Verify that IP connectivity through SSH (default is port 22) is available between the StorageGuard collector server and each DSCLI proxy. |
6 | Verify that IP connectivity is available between the DSCLI proxy and each IBM storage system that it scans. |
