Preparation for Scanning HCP for Cloud Scale
StorageGuard collects configuration data from HCP for Cloud Scale (HCPCS) by running read-only Rest API on the HCPCS system.
The following table lists the requirements for scanning HCPCS systems:

1 | Provide the HCPCS cluster name or IP address. |
2 | Provide a HCPCS user that has unlimited read-only permissions for REST API. Enable list, get, info APIs. |
3 | API Examples: GET https:/hcpcs_cluster:8000/api/admin/setup POST https://hcpcs_cluster:9099/mapi/v1/user/list |
4 | Ensure network connectivity over HTTP from the StorageGuard server to ports 8000, 9099 on the HCPCS cluster. |
5 | Optional / For future support: Provide an OS user account and network access for the HCPCS instances. Refer to Host Scanning for additional detail. |
Creating a User Account for Scanning HCP for Cloud Scale
The following suggested method can be used to create a user account with appropriate privileges:
1. Create a user and include it in a group that grants access to the HCPCS system. 2. Assign it to a role that has been enabled at least with the following permissions: Data Service - License - MAPI Alerts - MAPI S3 Settings - MAPI Storage Component - MAPI System - MAPI User - S3 Encryption Setting - Serial Number -
