Preparation for Scanning Nasuni
StorageGuard collects configuration data from Nasuni by opening an HTTPS connection to the Nasuni Management Console and running read-only REST API calls.
The following table lists the requirements for scanning Nasuni:

Provide a REST user account (and password) for the Nasuni Management Console. Make sure that the "Enable NMC API Access" permission is set within the Nasuni Management Console for the group of the provided user account. |
3 | The user account should be assigned with an unlimited read-only role, enabling it to run GET requests. Examples of read-only APIs used:

4 | Verify IP connectivity through HTTPS (443) is available between the StorageGuard server and each NMC. |
Creating a User Account for Scanning Nasuni
The following suggested method can be used to create a user account with appropriate privileges:
- Open Nasuni Management Console (NMC) and log in as an admin.
- Go to Admin Panel > User Management > Service Accounts.
- Click "Add Service Account", name it, enable API access, and choose Password authentication.
- Set a secure password and click Create.
- Go to Admin Panel > Groups. Create or edit a Read-Only API Group.
- Enable "NMC API Access" and select Read-Only permissions.
- Add the Service Account to this group.
