As described under AvailabilityGuard Scan Requirements, scanning UNIX/Linux systems and SymCLI proxies may require running a few read-only commands with elevated permissions.
To allow running the required read-only commands, many organizations choose to use access control solutions such as sudo, PowerBroker (pbrun), UPM (pbrun), CA Access Control (seSUDO), super, Keon/FoxT or similar.
The attached file outlines the sudo configuration recommended by Continuity Software. You may copy the suggested configuration to your sudoers file in preparation for scanning a target system with AvailabilityGuard. The file is updated from time to time to accommodate new platforms and other product changes and improvements.
