The following article describes common VMware vCenter and SRM scan issues and how to resolve them -
Ensure you have the correct user name and password. Attempt to login manually through the vCenter web interface. Re-enter the credentials into AvailabilityGuard and attempt to re-scan.
Possible reasons -
- The vCenter hostname or IP address configured in AvailabilityGuard is incorrect, or vCenter is currently offline.
- Firewall does not enable HTTP/HTTPS access from AvailabilityGuard to the target vCenter host.
Missing ESXi clusters
This could be a result of user scope restrictions. Validate that the access of the user account used for scanning is not limited to specific HA clusters.
VMware SRM scan failure
AvailabilityGuard will automatically identify when VMware SRM is used and the SRM URL. VMware SRM scan failure may occur when the user account configured for scanning vCenter does not have access permissions for the SRM Web interface.
