Preparation for Scanning Dell EMC RecoverPoint
StorageGuard collects configuration data from EMC RecoverPoint by running read-only CLI commands through SSH on the RecoverPoint appliance.
The following table lists the requirements for scanning EMC RecoverPoint:

| 1 | Provide the name or IP address for one RPA in each RecoverPoint installation. |
| 2 | Provide a user account (and password) for the RPA. |
| 3 | The user should be assigned with unlimited read-only rights, enabling it to query all RPA configuration objects. |
| 4 | Verify IP connectivity through SSH is available between the StorageGuard server and each RPA. |
Creating a User Account for Scanning Dell EMC RecoverPoint
The following suggested method can be used to create a user account with appropriate privileges: add_user type=<type> name=cntuser
