Preparation for Scanning HCP
StorageGuard collects configuration data from Hitachi Content Platform by running read-only Management Rest API on the HCP system.
The following table lists the requirements for scanning HCP systems:

| 1 | Ensure that the Management API service is enabled. |
| 2 | Provide the System-level URL for the HCP management API. |
| 3 | Provide a System-level user account with the Monitor role. |
| 4 | For tenant scan, enable the provided user account to access the tenant-level URL for the HCP management API, or provide individual user accounts with the Monitor role. |
| 5 | Make sure that IP connectivity through HTTP or HTTPS is available between the StorageGuard server and each HCP system. |
Creating a User Account for Scanning HCP
The following suggested method can be used to create a user account with appropriate privileges:

You can enable the HCP management API at the system level and configure HCP to control access to the management API for the HCP system, on the Management API page. Login to the System Management console:
