Preparation for Scanning Dell EMC Avamar
StorageGuard collects configuration data from EMC Avamar by running read-only CLI commands through SSH on the Avamar Utility Server (MCCLI package must be installed on the servers).
The following table lists the requirements for scanning EMC Avamar:

1 | Provide the name or IP address of a Unix/Linux Proxy server installed with MCCLI. |
2 | Provide a user account (and password) for the Proxy server. |
3 | Provide the name or IP address of the Avamar Utility Server. |
4 | Provide a user account (and password) for the Avamar Utility server. |
5 | The user should be assigned with unlimited read-only rights. |
6 | Verify IP connectivity through SSH is available between the StorageGuard server and the Proxy server and the Utility Server. |
Creating a User Account for Scanning Dell EMC EMC Avamar
The following suggested method can be used to create a user account with appropriate privileges:
mccli user add [--authenticator=String(Axion)] --client-domain=<String> --name=cntuser --password=<String> --password-confirm=<String> --role=Auditor
