Preparation for Scanning Dell EMC VxRail
StorageGuard collects configuration data from VxRail by running read-only API calls through HTTPS on the VXRail Manager system.
NOTE: The VxRail API uses the VMware vCenter or Platform Services Controller (PSC) single sign on (SSO) for authentication. Use your vCenter username and password to log into the VxRail API. The API passes the credentials to the vCenter/PSC for authentication.
The following table lists the requirements for scanning EMC VxRail:
# | Description |
1 | Provide the name or IP address of each VxRail management server. |
2 | Provide a read-only username and password for each VxRail Management server. |
3 | Make sure that IP connectivity through HTTPS (port 443) is available between the StorageGuard server and each VxRAIL Management server. |
NOTE: VxRail Manager does not provide management of vCenter user accounts. Manage the credentials using VMware vSphere.
