Q: What is the footprint of the StorageGuard configuration collection?

A: The configuration collection of a Storage or Backup system lasts between 20 seconds to several minutes. During the collection, StorageGuard runs read-only vendor commands and/or API requests. The read-only commands/API requests are executed serially, one at a time. The collection has negligible impact on the storage/backup CPU and on the network. The amount of data collected ranges between 50 kilobytes to several megabytes.

Important notes:

• Only system configuration data is collected; no business data is collected. 
• StorageGuard does not scan all files on disk and does not perform a full disk scan.
